A Model of Compassion

A Model of Compassion
Sunday Service - April 3, 2011  (10:30 AM)

The flowers and colored shrubbery are in full bloom as here in South Florida, nature combines Spring and Summer with reckless abandon!   It's wonderful to take the time to "notice" the beauty of nature -- even when a huge thunderstorm caused a deluge a few days ago.  I was driving in the midst of all this water and wind -- and the water was winning.  I slowed down and cooperated with the flow of the rising water until I reached a higher ground.

By the time I got home, the storm had passed, the air was crisp and clear and the sun was out just in time to create a beautiful sunset.  We can always trust that there is light, clearing, at the end of a storm -- if we will just pay attention, trust the process, cooperate with it and then celebrate the clearing.

This Sunday at our 10:30 Sunday celebration, we are exploring the ideas of COMPASSION and how to model that in our lives and dealings with the people and experiences in our world.  We've just completed a month long series on Forgiveness and now we move into the month of April building a strong foundation of Compassion as our path.
